What is a fixed-sum insurance?
In life and personal accident insurance, a sum fixed in the policy is paid to the beneficiary or heirs when the insured event (such as death) occurs. Heirs may not know about policies taken out with loans, by employers or linked to cards and accounts.
Checking via e-Devlet
- 1. Log in to e-Devlet (turkiye.gov.tr) with your e-Devlet password, e-signature, mobile signature, ID card or internet banking.
- 2. Search for "Sigorta Bilgi ve Gözetim Merkezi" (SBM) to open its services.
- 3. Choose "Hayat Sigortası Poliçe ve Tazminat Bilgileri Sorgulama (Mirasçısı Olduğunuz Kişi Adına)" — the life policy query on behalf of a person you are an heir to — or the related personal accident query in the same list.
- 4. Select the deceased person and note the insurer, policy number and any claim details listed.
Checking via the SBM website
You can also use the "Meblağ Sigortalarında Hak Sahipliği Sorgulama" service among SBM's online queries, verifying your identity with your e-Devlet credentials.
If a policy is found
Apply to the insurer with the documents it requests, usually the death certificate, certificate of inheritance, ID copies and bank details. Named beneficiaries are paid under the policy terms. Claims are subject to statutory limitation periods, so do not delay. If the policy was arranged through us, we can help: 0543 789 66 55, info@drdgroupsigorta.com.
