Pet insurance pays for the veterinary treatment your pet needs after an accident or emergency, and for damage your pet may cause to others. In Türkiye these products are generally offered for cats and dogs.
Cover limits, waiting periods and services vary considerably by insurer and package. One package may cover emergencies only, while more comprehensive ones may include items such as examinations, diagnostic tests and surgery. We compare insurers' packages based on your pet's species, age and your needs, and recommend the one that suits you.

What you should know
Limits and conditions in pet insurance vary by insurer and package, and we compare them for you. Cats and dogs aged between 6 months and 8 or 10 years can generally be insured; full vaccinations and a microchip or ID/pet passport are usually required. Some insurers exclude breeds banned under Animal Protection Law No. 5199.
A waiting period applies after the policy starts: for emergencies there may be none, or it may range from 24 hours to 15 days depending on the package, while for non-emergency treatment it can be up to 3 months. Vaccines, parasite treatments, routine check-ups, congenital and hereditary conditions and conditions that existed before the policy are generally excluded. Some packages are valid only at contracted vets or apply a co-payment.
Pet cover can also be found inside other products rather than a standalone pet policy: Sompo Sigorta's İklim (Climate) Insurance pays vet, surgery, medication, test and X-ray costs within its limits if a pet is injured in an accident, and Corpus Sigorta's Evim Güvende Home Package Insurance includes pet liability cover.
