Licensed warehouse operators are required to provide a guarantee for the products they store. The guarantee must be at least 15% of the market value of the products at the warehouse's capacity. Licensed Warehouse Surety Insurance allows this compulsory guarantee to be provided through surety insurance.
The policy covers losses of depositors who deliver products to the warehouse, as well as embezzlement and breach of trust within the warehouse operation; payment is made to the Compensation Fund. Because it is a guarantee product, issuing the policy and the guarantee limit depend on the insurer's assessment of the operator's financial position.
