Building Completion Insurance is a guarantee product within the surety line. It is accepted as a guarantee in pre-paid housing and timeshare sales under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, and in urban regeneration projects under Law No. 6306 on the Transformation of Areas under Disaster Risk.
If the seller goes bankrupt, dies or is declared missing, the buyers' payments are refunded with statutory interest or the building is completed. For the seller or contractor, it is a way of meeting the guarantee obligation for the project. Issuing the guarantee depends on the insurer's assessment of the company's financial position and the guarantee limit it assigns.

This is a surety product that protects buyers. Issuing the policy and the guarantee limit depend on the insurer's assessment of the seller's or contractor's financial position; if the insurer pays out, it can recover the amount from the company.
If you are a buyer, we recommend asking the seller for the project's building completion insurance or statutory guarantee details before signing a pre-paid housing contract.
