A manufacturer's and seller's responsibility does not end when a product leaves the factory or the shelf. If a faulty electrical appliance starts a fire, a food product harms a consumer or a defective part causes an accident, the business can face substantial compensation claims.
Product Liability insurance takes on your legal liability for bodily injury and property damage that products you manufacture or sell cause to third parties, within the policy limits. We review your product range, sales channels and any exports with you and obtain a suitable quote from Corpus Sigorta.
What is covered?
- Bodily injury caused by the product to third parties (injury, death)
- Damage caused by the product to third-party property
- Legal liability arising from products you manufacture
- Legal liability arising from products you sell
- Defence and court costs against compensation claims (subject to policy terms)
What you should know
This is a Corpus Sigorta product; you can get a quote through our agency.
Damage to the product itself and the cost of replacing it or withdrawing it from the market are outside this policy. For the cost of recalling defective products, Corpus Sigorta's Product Recall insurance can be considered separately.
If you sell abroad, the geographical scope of the policy is agreed separately. Scope, limits and exclusions are set out in the policy's special conditions.
