Mining is one of the sectors where workers face the highest risks. For this reason, Council of Ministers Decision No. 2015/7249 dated 26.01.2015 made personal accident insurance compulsory for employees of underground and surface mining operations.
Within the general framework of personal accident insurance, the amounts set in the policy are paid if an employee dies or is permanently disabled as a result of an accident; sums insured and scope are determined by the legislation and the policy terms. We prepare your operation and employee details with you and follow renewals and changes so that your policy stays up to date.
What is covered?
- Payment to beneficiaries in case of accidental death
- Permanent disability benefit after an accident
- Compulsory cover for employees of underground mining operations
- Compulsory cover for employees of surface mining operations

The legal basis for the requirement is Council of Ministers Decision No. 2015/7249 dated 26.01.2015. Sums insured, scope and exclusions are determined by the relevant legislation and policy terms; ask us for the current conditions.
Personal accident insurance pays the employee or beneficiaries regardless of fault; it does not cover the employer's legal liability. For compensation claims and SGK recourse actions arising from workplace accidents, we recommend also considering Employers' Liability insurance.

Yes. The two policies meet different needs: compulsory personal accident pays the employee or beneficiaries directly, while employers' liability takes on compensation claims made against the employer. An optional policy does not replace a compulsory one.
New hires and departures can affect whether your policy is up to date. When you tell us about changes, we handle the necessary endorsements with Corpus Sigorta on your behalf.
