State-Supported Beehive Insurance

Protects your beehives against fire, natural perils and other listed risks, with state premium support.

State-Supported Beehive Insurance

Beehive insurance is offered through the TARSIM pool, with part of the premium paid by the state. The hive and its colony are covered, within the policy terms, when one of the listed risks occurs.

A current record in the Beekeeping Registration System is required. If you practise migratory beekeeping, declaring hive locations correctly matters, and we guide you on that too.

What is covered?

  • Fire and lightning
  • Storm and tornado
  • Flood and inundation
  • Earthquake and landslide
  • Losses of the hive and bee colony
  • Other risks defined in the policy (subject to terms)

What you should know

The state subsidy and cover conditions are set by the implementation rules published each year; hive type and location details can affect the cover.

After a loss, notify without moving the hives so the adjuster can inspect properly.
