Aquaculture insurance is a state-supported product within the TARSIM pool. It covers, within the policy terms, the loss when fish farmed at sea, in ponds or in tanks die or are lost for the reasons listed in the policy.
The farm must be registered in the Aquaculture Registration System with current operating permits. We collect your facility and stock details and prepare the application with you.
What is covered?
- Losses caused by storm, tornado and wave damage
- Flood, inundation, earthquake and landslide
- Fire and lightning
- Mass mortality from environmental causes such as oxygen depletion (subject to terms)
- Deaths from diseases defined in the policy (subject to terms)
- Fish escape due to cage or net damage (depending on policy scope)
What you should know
The state subsidy and the species and risks covered are set by the implementation rules published each year; scope may vary by facility type.
After a loss, document the situation and notify immediately; the adjuster inspects the facility.
